SETE IRMÃOS
OUR STORY

Sete Irmãos is rooted in our father’s strong belief in humanism and love for nature.
Even though he had lived in the city most of his life, he continued to dream of having a farm so his family could share his passion for nature.
In 1988, we acquired the first plot of land to make this dream a reality. Today, we continue to treasure our memories of him collecting seeds in the fields, while admiring, for long hours, the beauty of the trees and flowers that grew on our new land. He and our mother gave us, seven siblings, unforgettable moments and taught us the value and beauty of this place.
Over the years, we continuously expanded the property. In 1998 we decided to start a small coffee production project – without, however, putting aside the values that motivated our parents when starting Sete Irmãos. During this period, Bia, the youngest sibling, had just graduated in agronomy at university and took over the administration and day-to-day operations of the farm.
Over the past few years, Sete Irmãos underwent several stages of development. The first was the expansion of its productive area in a sustainable way. To achieve this goal, we started planting in small modules, building a modern infrastructure and incorporating new technologies, always keeping consistent with what we call the four pillars of our enterprise: environmental preservation, social promotion, quality production and economic sustainability. With the great dedication and professionalism of our team, we have achieved and upheld unique standards in both quality and productivity.
In 2008 we obtained our first Rainforest Alliance® Certification. Since then, we have implemented a series of changes to our administrative and production processes that have helped to improve our property management even further.
Today, Sete Irmãos has the mission of developing a productive agribusiness in coffee production, guided by the protection of and respect for the environment, quality production, and valuing our people.
Accordingly, our vision for the future is to be a company of excellence and a regional reference in the production of premium quality coffee, while adopting sustainable practices in all steps of our production chain.

OUR TERROIR

Located in Araguari (18°30’57.35”S – 48°20’49.06”W) in the northern region of the Triângulo Mineiro, just west of the state of Minas Gerais, our seasonal tropical climate is defined by the Cerrado biome with two very well defined seasons – a rainy, humid, and hot summer (Oct-Mar), and a dry and mild winter (Apr-Sep). We typically see rainfalls of 1,700 mm/year.
The temperature varies between a minimum of 12°C and a maximum of 32°C, with little to no wind. The average humidity is around 60%, but with great variation between summer and winter.
Our landscape is predominantly flat, with an average altitude of approximately 920m. The predominant soil type is latosoil, which is characterized by its red color, being weathered, well-drained, and with layers of humus.
As a result, our coffee has a unique profile of an intense, full-bodied aroma, with notes ranging from caramel to almond, light citrus acidity, sweetness, hints of chocolate, and a long-lasting aftertaste.

CULTIVATED VARIETIES
At Sete Irmãos, five varieties of Arabica coffee (Coffea Arabica) are cultivated:
– TOPÁZIO (yellow)
– CATUAÍ 62 (yellow)
– CATUAÍ 144 (red)
– MUNDO NOVO (red)
– ACAIÁ (red)
Topázio is an extremely fine, tasty, and refined coffee with a citrusy, fruity aroma. Catuaí 62 and 144 are also tasty, yet sweeter and fuller-bodied. Mundo Novo is a very high-quality large bean with sweet, intense, medium acidity and caramel chocolate aromas. Finally, Acaiá, also known as “big seed” in the Tupi-Guarani language, was recently planted at the farm. Known for its smoothness, it draws attention for its floral and chocolatey notes.

POST-HARVEST PROCESSES

After harvesting, the coffee beans are transported to the wet mill, where they are separated by density into stages of maturation. Each of these has its own characteristics and unique attributes. The farm produces homogeneous batches of two process types:
– NATURAL COFFEE
– PULPED “CHERRY” COFFEE
In the search for exotic sensory nuances, the farm has been experimenting with the fermentation of some special micro-lots of its production for several years.
In November of 2021, Sete Irmãos received 1st place in the “Induced Fermentation” category in the Coocacer – Araguari/MG Quality Coffee Contest.
